    My client has an immediate need for an Experienced Quantity Surveyor / QS to join their team, Based from their offices in Kings Lynn area they are looking for someone who has worked on Refurbishment projects Ideally with some experience of working in Labs although this is not essential.

    Suitable Candidates:

    Will have at least 5 years proven experience gained whilst working for a main building contractor and ideally hold qualifications in Quantity Surveying.

    Main Responsibilities / Requirements

    · Chartered Quantity Surveyor, full RICS member or equivalent experience (5 years plus).

    · Experience in the construction sector.

    · Proven experience of financially managing all projects from inception to completion

    · Ability to interpret and understand construction and building plans and specifications.

    · Knowledge and experience of managing legal and contractual matters.

    · Exceptional cost estimating ability, bringing cost estimates together ready for adjudication with project team

    · Ability to negotiate packages of works with suppliers and sub-contractors along with the project managers

    · Exceptional numeracy and financial management skills. Including cash flow forecasts and Valuations documentation and early order schedules.

    · Up to date with current building regulations within the commercial and Fit Out industry.

    · Excellent organisational skills.

    · Full UK Driving licence.

    · Computer literacy and confidence using Microsoft Office and other systems used by the company. Particularly excel.

    · Experience in the use of a range of costing IT packages to ensure pricing is accurate and finances are managed and tracked.

    My client has a need for an experienced Site Manager to join their team on a freelance basis, Initial project is in Peterborough and is New Build Industrial units with Cat A Fit Out works.

     

    Suitable candidates will have been No 1 Site manager for a min of 5 years and will have worked on New Build Projects, ideally Industrial units / sheds. Candidates must have a good understanding of Groundworks as project will include managing all external groundworks from Drainage through to Kerbing, edgings and finishings, along with managing internal CAT A fit out of units once completed.

     

    Candidates must hold a valid CSCS card, SMSTS and Full First Aid, and live within commutable distance of Peterborough, they must also have excellent groundworks knowledge.

    This project is due to hand over in April but there is the potential that suitable candidates will follow on to other projects within the Cambridgeshire area.
